At the multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-gender identities and politically liberal social gathering in the Upper West Side the white American asked the Latino where was he from. And the Latino said South America.
"South America is a big continent, any particular country?", asked another guest. The Latino did not seem to be interested in naming his particular country. Was being South American more prestigious than....? He smiled, and then said the name of the Andean country where he was born.
