A South American gay man has, over the years, shown a great deal of desire to be part of a certain crowd, to hang out with a particular type of white middle class gay man, to be perceived as different from the other Latinos, claiming he is a member of Andean aristocracy; gradually, giving up on his old friends; until recently, with trumpian shadows appearing on every corner of the country, scaring those who look different from the idealized citizen, he decided to wear a baseball cap. Nothing strange so far, except that the cap is adorned with a Puerto Rican flag. One wonders, tries to recall the name of the Hungarian author who wrote the story about degrees of separation.
