The journal Social Minds and Texts recently published an article on how white women in the USA relate with men of "color", including Latino men. I met quite a few white American women in New York City and there were as many differences among them as there are differences in any group. Yet, there was a type of white American leftist woman who spoke Spanish, and thought Latinos were there to be protected by them; and if Latinos did not respond to them in gratitude and adoration, they would take an offensive mode; destroying the reputation of the men who kept them at a distance. They were the face on the other side of the racist coin. Racism, patronizing values and acts are also found among those who think they are the saviors of the world.
