If any of my readers can add to the topic suggested by the title or demonstrate when the Christians stopped the dismantling and became part of the meritocratic conception of individual and social life, please let me know; since right now I am trying to figure out how in the hell such mediocre men and women -who meet few meritocratic scales besides hunger for power and money- are defending meritocratic societies. Rereading Borges did not help, but the short story “Canvas” by Aysegul Savas in the New Yorker did.
