Every night before I go to bed
at this golden age
I think
maybe I die tonight
in bed
dead people look asleep to me
not all
some look very angry
maybe
they close their eyes
to show they don't want
people around
when they die before going to bed
like me
they know
maybe
the next morning they will be alive
the coffee pot
waiting for them.
