Hipsters are not hippies nor beatniks, they are more like the 1920’s flappers; slumming for the sake of pleasure. While the beatniks and hippies were about transforming society, hipsters are more about fashion and style; transforming only their neighborhoods so they all look alike, black clothes and cafe society included. They are vegan, care about animals, but not about the poor people they displace from their neighborhoods. Hipsters are very yesterday and like the flappers, they seem to be a prelude to the Nazis, Fascists and their look alike, currently politically active in Europe and the USA. They better be careful. As they drink their “puccinos” , the “storm troopers” are organizing themselves, and those cheap beer drinkers can be the real trend.
