Mother’s day was always a difficult experience for me, since mine wanted to even control the love shown to her; and I always felt sucked in by her needs. It took me decades to accept that emotional pathology, and to realize I had transferred it into my relations with others, including lovers and co-workers. When I finally understood the dynamics, I gave my cat away.
